Retro: Across Central Park


The view from the American Museum of Natural History (New York, December 2007). I sometimes think about visiting New York again one day, but not usually with any gut feeling or particular notion, more matter of fact lightened with the promise of fun. Looking at this photo is enough to make me really want to go back.

Seals!


I knew there were seals somewhere around here. They used to be too close for comfort after only a 2 minute walk across the port.

But now there’s a restricted security area.

So we found another way there, down a steep slope.

We found the seals splashing around near some rocks. They weren’t close enough for caution, but pretty cool to watch from the distance.

And since they kinda blend into the rocks here’s some close-ups.

Some Easter Weekend Treats


Some of the delicious food we ate over the Easter weekend. There’s no chocolate pictured here, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

Perfect avocados made great Guacamole.

Sweet buns before baking…

Actually, the weather has been great in New Plymouth, apart from this little patch. Today we made a descent down a steep bank to see some seals right before the rain started to come down. We hiked back up quickly to make sure we didn’t get stranded. Seals tk…
