We visited Christchurch for 4 days to take in the city, visit some friends and trawl some op shops. There is an abundance of great food in Christchurch, particularly Japanese. I enjoyed spending time in a tourist city. And old buildings. I love cities with old buildings. They can really make a city enjoyable to be in.
The Honey Pot is very good for breakfast. $8 Breakfast Muffin is a steal.
SOL Square by day. . .
And by night, Cartel. . .
. . . The Fish and Chip Shop . . .
. . . and Ishimoto Yakitori.
This little arcade has a Japanese Bar, Restaurant and Bakery and a couple of Korean places too. It’s the only Japanese Bakery I know of in New Zealand and totally worth a visit if you’re into weird bread/flavour combinations. Across the road is The Samurai Bowl with cheap, cheerful and bountiful Japanese meals.

Souvlaki! Obtained from Dimitris during it’s final weekend at this location.

YUM I WANT MORE SOUVLAKI
Very cool pictures, Jason. I can’t wait to hear stories.
Hey That’s My Bike.
