Christchurch (June 2009)

We visited Christchurch for 4 days to take in the city, visit some friends and trawl some op shops. There is an abundance of great food in Christchurch, particularly Japanese. I enjoyed spending time in a tourist city. And old buildings. I love cities with old buildings. They can really make a city enjoyable to be in.

It’s the only Japanese Bakery I know of in New Zealand and totally worth a visit if you’re into weird bread/flavour combinations. Across the road is The Samurai Bowl with cheap, cheerful and bountiful Japanese meals.

de Molen Foxton, New Zealands only traditional style windmill. Also, the place I get my cornmeal and Dutch treats.
